How to adopt

Most of our dogs and puppies available for adoption are pictured below, or posted on our Facebook and Instagram pages! Please click the icons below to be taken to our pages, and please contact us if you would like more information about any of our dogs. We will be happy to tell you all about them! We will have more photos and sometimes videos too, so please feel free to ask!

All of our dogs and puppies are APHA brucellosis tested, vaccinated and microchipped, and all dogs over 7 months old are also neutered / spayed. Most of our dogs are based in our shelter in Romania and are brought to the UK upon receiving home offer. We do sometimes have dogs in the UK already who need homes – we will specify if a dog is in the UK already under their photo.

If you’d like to offer one of our lovely dogs a place in your family, please get in touch! You can contact us via our contact page, by email at info@pawsfornewbeginnings.co.uk, or via our Facebook and Instagram pages. We will be more than happy to talk you through our adoption process and arrange a home visit. When that’s all done, we can make arrangements for your new family member to travel home to you.

 NOTE – We have made the difficult decision to change our adoption requirements slightly. We now note that – for the most part – we can not allow new adoptions of adult dogs where children under 10 years of age live in the home. This was a difficult decision to make, but one we felt necessary, as we cannot properly child test our dogs in Romania. There may be some rare exceptions to this rule – for example, if the dog is young / a puppy, if a dog fostered in the UK or Romania has been properly tested with children, etc – please feel free to ask us if a particular dog or puppy can live with children!

We will do our best to get back to you as soon as possible! In most cases, we respond to messages and emails within 48 hours, but during busier periods, this may take slightly longer.

BEAU – WISBECH, UK – Beau was adopted as a puppy in 2020, but was given up in 2024 for being too big. 5 year old Beau is a happy and loving boy, a real favourite at the kennels, but can be reactive on walks. He would suit a home experienced with large / medium breeds.
**RESERVED** KIMBA – We rescued Kimba after he was abandoned on the streets as a baby. Kimba is a gentle giant. He is now around 1 year old, friendly, affectionate and good with other dogs! He has a heart of gold – please don’t let his size put you off!
BEAUTY – Beauty is around 4 years old. She was rescued from the streets of Romania around 4 years ago and hasn’t had a home offer in this time. She’s stuck in kennels and deserves a loving home. She’s a shy but lovely girl, and gets on well with other dogs too.
**RESERVED** KAI – Rescued from the streets of Romania as a pup, Kai is now around 4 years old. He is good with other dogs, loving, friendly and playful, and so deserves a forever home.
DAVEY – This lovely boy is growing up in kennels, but deserves so much more. He is around 5 years old now but was rescued as a small pup. He is very friendly and affectionate, and is great with other dogs.
**RESERVED** CALVIN – Calvin is a 4 year old boy who was rescued from a Romanian kill shelter. He now needs a loving home. He’s timid, but sweet and friendly. He also gets on well with other dogs.
KARLA – 4 year old Karla was struggling in a Romanian kill shelter when we found her – she’s now safe with us but would love a place to call home! Karla is a sweet, shy girl. She is also good with other dogs.
**RESERVED** KIMMIE – Beautiful Kimmie was found struggling to survive in a kill shelter. She is around 4 years old, very loving and friendly with people. She is also playful, and gets on well with other dogs!
CANDY – Candy was rescued as a tiny baby, but sadly still awaits a home. She is 3 years old now, friendly, playful, but shy at first having lived her whole life in kennels. She is
great with other dogs!
MIRA – For years poor Mira lived outside, on a short chain, throughout hot summers and cold winters. She was then in kennels for another 3 years, but has thankfully been fostered for the last year with one of our team in Romania. She’s now around 7 years old. We would love for her to find her forever. She is friendly but can be choosy with other dogs.
CALI – Cali was rescued from the streets of Romania years ago as a baby, but sadly is yet to find a home of her own. She is a friendly, playful girl who is around 5 years old now… We have no clue why this beauty has waited so long for someone to choose her. She is good with other dogs, too.
KENJI – 4 year old Kenji has not had the best start in life. We rescued him from a Romanian kill shelter and he is now looking for a loving family to take care of him. Kenji is timid but friendly, and good with other dogs.
**RESERVED** OSCAR – Sweet boy Oscar was rescued as a little baby, and is still waiting for a place to call home. He is now 2 years old, friendly and affectionate. His Mum and siblings all found lovely homes but our poor boy is still waiting. !
MISSY – Missy is a 10 year old, medium to large girl who has been through more than a dog should have to endure. She was caught in a wire snare which caused devastating injuries, and sadly one of her legs had to be amputated to save her life, leaving her as a tri-paw girl. She later underwent chemotherapy for a Sticker tumour, but thankfully this has now cleared. Despite everything, Missy is a very friendly girl who loves people. She can live with other dogs and respectful children, and would make a wonderful companion.
ROSS – 5 year old Ross was rescued from the streets of Romania when he was only a baby. Sadly, he grew up in kennels without much interest, and can now be a little shy of people at first. However, he is a sweet, curious and affectionate boy when he gets to know you. He suffered a serious injury involving his Achilles tendon last year, but after surgery, he has recovered beautifully. He loves other dogs, and really needs a family of his own.
BANJO – Poor Banjo had a tough start in life. Our team in Romania took him in as an urgent case, when he was found sick with coronavirus and parvovirus. Thankfully our strong boy made a full recovery. He is now 2 years old, friendly, playful and ready to find his forever home.
GRETA – Lovely Greta is a typical pup – happy, sweet, playful and friendly. She is 3 years old, and is good with other dogs! She just needs a forever family to adopt her.
PABLO – 3 year old Pablo is a sweet and affectionate boy. This handsome boy is friendly, playful and good with other dogs. He has now spent his whole life in kennels, and will therefore need a patient adopter, to help him adjust to home
JULIO – Handsome Julio is so friendly and affectionate, he would absolutely love to have a home of his own, someone to love him, cuddle him and keep him safe! He’s now around 3 years old and is also good with other dogs.
REX – Poor Rex was rescued by our team in Romania recently. He was freezing cold, and had a broken leg. He’s now had surgery and his leg is healing well, so he’s ready to find a home. Rex is 5 years old, used to being around cats, is good with other dogs and very friendly with people.
ARIS – Sweet boy Aris is searching for a forever family after being found abandoned in a small Romanian village. He is nearly 3 years old, affectionate, and good with other dogs.
ZEUS – 6 year old Zeus was found abandoned, weak, cold, and fighting babesia. He has since received treatment and made a full recovery, and needs an experienced home, familiar with huskies. He would love a female companion dog, and needs a secure garden.
SUKI – Lovely Suki was rescued by our team in Romamia as a baby, but sadly remains in kennels several months later.
She’s 2 years old, friendly, bubbly and playful. She just needs a second chance!
FREYA – Freya is a lovely 2 year old girl. Rescued from the streets, she is playful, friendly, and always ready for fun. Freya has been in kennels since she was a baby, and is now searching for a loving home to call her own. Could she be the one for you?
MAX – Max is 3 years old and was once one of the happiest boys at the shelter. He was rescued as a pup, but grew up in kennels and became shy. He is now fostered by one of our team in Romania. He is timid but gaining confidence over time, and is great with other dogs and cats.
**RESERVED** BEAR – Having been rescued from the streets as a little baby, Bear is now searching for his forever home. He is around 2 years old, and very loving. He is affectionate, playful, and great with other dogs and cats.
CHELSEA – Sweet Chelsea is looking for her forever home after being rescued from the streets of Romania. She’s around 4 years old, and friendly with other dogs and cats. She is leash trained, and house trained too, as she is fostered with one of our team in Romania.
MARGOT – This sweet 2 year old girl was recently rescued from the streets with her two pups. She is friendly but growing timid in a kennel environment, small in size, good with other dogs and ready to find a home of her own.
PENNY – Poor Penny was found wandering the streets – all alone with nowhere to go. She is safe with us now, but really needs a loving home to call her own. Penny is around 4 years old, very friendly, and is great with other dogs and cats.
LASSIE – This sweetheart is Lassie. She has unfortunately been living in someone’s yard in Romania for several years, spending most of her time attached to a short chain. We have agreement from her owner to find her a better home, and a better life. She’s now 8 years old and deserves comfort for the rest of her days! She is a super friendly and affectionate girl.
JENNY – Jenny is ready for the next chapter of her life, after being found on the streets as a baby. Sweet 1 year old Jenny needs affection and a home where she will be cherished. She is such a great pup – friendly, and good with other dogs.
ALFREDO – Handsome boy Alfredo is still searching for his forever home, after being rescued from the streets as a pup. He is around 1 year old now, a sweet boy, friendly and good with people and other dogs.
MACE – 1 year old Mace needs a place to call home after a rough start. She was born on the streets, and rescued as a young pup. She is safe now, but would love a family to call her own. She is friendly with people, and good with other dogs.
SILVI – Silvi needs a home after a lifetime outdoors. Lovely Silvi is around 7 years old and has never had a place to call home. Sleeping outdoors in harsh summers and cold winters. After all this time, she’s no longer wanted and we have been asked to find her a home.
Norma is fostered with one of our team in Romania, and is a friendly girl and is good with other dogs.
**RESERVED** LUNA – Sweet girl Luna was rescued from the streets while she struggled to survive, as well as looking after her pups. Her puppies have now started to find homes of their own, but we need the same for lovely Luna. She is around 2 years old, quite small in size, good with other dogs and affectionate with people. We would love to see her happy in a nice home.
ARIS – For the first 2 years of Aris’ life, he had a home, and was a normal family dog. He was bought as a puppy in Romania, but his family grew bored of him and recently surrendered him to a small shelter we support. He is a really friendly boy, but he is active and needs more than a kennel can offer him. He is lively, playful and great with other dogs. He needs a fresh start, with someone who deserves him and his affection.
IZZY – Poor Izzy was rescued from the streets of Romania last year after being injured by a car and left for dead. Her elbow was badly damaged, and she faced major reconstructive surgery, weeks of recovery, and ongoing physiotherapy. She overcame it all, and now needs a place to call her own. Our sweet girl is 1-2 years old, quite small, friendly, affectionate and great with other dogs.
**RESERVED** TASHA – Tasha was recently brought to a small shelter we help, after being given up by her family. At 2 years old, and having always lived in a home, she is struggling living in kennels and desperately needs a new home to help mend her broken heart. Despite her heartbreak, she remains a sweet, affectionate and friendly girl. She is great with other dogs, too.
**RESERVED** MAYA – At just under 1 year old, Maya has been with us at the shelter since she was a small baby. She is a sweet girl, but she is shy so will need an understanding, loving home. She is so lovely when she warms up to you, and is great with other dogs.
DYLAN – Dylan was born outdoors in a yard in a small village in Romania. He lived there for a while along with his siblings, until the shelter had space to take them in. He is now in kennels, but we hope he won’t grow up there. He is a sweet but shy boy, and would love a family to show him the comforts that life has to offer. He is just under 1 year old, and good with other dogs.
EDDIE – Eddie was born in a village yard in Romania, on of an unwanted stray litter. He is now safe at the shelter, but needs a home to call his own. Eddie is just under 1 year old, but is shy with people until he gets used to them. He is good with other dogs. He would benefit from a caring family to help bring him out of his shell.
**RESERVED** PIA – Little Pia was found as a stray along with her Mum and siblings, when they were all really small. She is now 3 months old, and will be ready to travel to a new life soon. She is a typical happy pup – playful, curious and affectionate. She loves people, and is great with other dogs.
**RESERVED** PAIGE – Sweet girl Paige was rescued as a tiny pup along with her siblings and Mum. She has grown into a beautiful, happy girl, and now needs a place to call her own. Paige is around 3 months now, and will be ready to travel soon. She is friendly, playful, loving, good with other dogs… A great girl all around!
**RESERVED** DEXTER – Little Dexter was saved from the streets along with his Mum and siblings. He was a tiny baby then, and is now 3 months old, and the funniest boy at the shelter. He is a typical bouncy pup – playful, full of life, friendly and adventurous. He loves other dogs, and people too. He just needs a forever family to call his own!
**RESERVED** WINNIE – Poor Winnie was found abandoned all alone in the woods when she was just a few weeks old. She’s safe with us now, but she does need a place to call home. She is around 3 months old now, and will be ready to travel soon. She is playful, friendly and full of life, and is good with other dogs.
**RESERVED** THEO – Theo was one of a few pups abandoned at our shelter gates earlier this year. Since his difficult start, he has grown into a lovely young boy. He is 3 months old now, and is so friendly and affectionate. He is good with other dogs, loves people and loves playtime. He can travel soon if he finds a loving committed home.
REMI – Little Remi was abandoned at our gates when he was a tiny baby. He has been at the shelter ever since, and has grown in confidence. He is now 4 months old, and is getting to be such a brave, happy and friendly boy. He loves to play with the other dogs at the shelter, and would love a home to call his own.
IRIS – Iris was surrendered to the rescue when her owner developed health issues and could no longer care for her. She is now over 1 year old, and is searching for her forever home. She is small in size (around 7kg), gentle, friendly, loving and great with both cats and other dogs.
MONA – Mona was found on the streets with her pups – exhausted, underweight, and still doing everything she could to keep her tiny puppies alive. Now they’re all safe, but 2 year old Mona deserves a loving home of her own after all she’s been through. Despite all she has been through, she is still the most gentle, friendly soul.
NALA – Poor Nala was surrendered to the rescue when her elderly owner realised that she could no longer care for her properly. Nala is now homeless for the first time in a long time, and would love a forever home of her own. She is so friendly and affectionate with people, and great with other dogs. Nala is around 5 years old.
**RESERVED** ROCKY – Rocky is a 2 year old boy who was found chained up in a yard, living in an old dog house and having suffered abuse. When he was rescued, he was in such a poor condition that he could barely use his back legs. With lots of care and physiotherapy, Rocky has made incredible progress and is now walking well – though his walking will never be completely normal because of what he has been through. Despite everything, Rocky is a little fighter – friendly, good with other dogs, and so ready for a new start in life.
**RESERVED** SASHA – Sasha is a 1 year old Golden Retriever who was abandoned at our vet after becoming seriously unwell from swallowing a foreign object. He needed emergency surgery to remove it and, despite being in pain and going through such a difficult time, remained the sweetest and most friendly boy. Sadly, once Sasha had recovered, his owners decided they no longer wanted him and refused to collect him from the vet. The vet team asked us to step in and help find Sasha the loving home he deserves.
VIDOR – Vidor is a medium sized 6 year old boy who was rescued from a Romanian kill shelter by a German charity. Sadly, the charity later ran out of funds to pay the private shelter where they placed Vidor, leaving his future uncertain once again. Vidor is a friendly boy who gets along well with other dogs. He would love a family of his own where he can finally leave shelter life behind and enjoy the loving home he deserves. 
NICO – Nico is a medium 2 year old girl who was rescued from a Romanian kill shelter by a German charity. Sadly, the charity later ran out of funds and stopped paying the private shelter where they left Nico, leaving her in need of support. We have now taken over this responsibility, and hope to find sweet Nico a home. Nico is a friendly and gentle young girl who gets along well with other dogs. She is still young and would love a family of her own to grow up with and share lots of adventures.
DANI – Dani is a 3 year old, medium boy who was rescued from a Romanian kill shelter by a German charity. Sadly, when the charity ran out of funds they stopped paying for his care, so we have stepped in to help him. Dani is a friendly boy who can be a little timid when he first meets you, but soon becomes more comfortable with love and patience. He is good with other dogs and would love a home of his own to help him gain confidence and enjoy life outside of the shelter.
BONNIE – Bonnie is a sweet 7 year old girl who was rescued from a Romanian kill shelter by a German charity. Sadly, the charity later stopped paying the private shelter where they left her, leaving her in need of support once more. We have now taken responsibility for her, and hope to finally find her a loving home. Bonnie is medium, sweet and friendly, but can be a little shy at first. She gets along well with other dogs and would love a family of her own where she can build her confidence and enjoy a safe, happy life.
